At about 40 minutes from our bed & breakfast you can visit the lake most famous for its group of Borromean islands including the island Bella (Bela island in dialect) that is located in the gulf dedicated to the famous family who still has the property, about 400 meters off the coast of Stresa. The islet measures 320 meters in length and 180 in width and is largely occupied by the sumptuous garden of the Borromeo palace. This group also includes the Isola dei Pescatori and the Isola Madre.
Every year the Lake Maggiore attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world.Stresais given an atmosphere of luxury and elegance by the many aristocratic mansions. The three Borromean Islands in the heart of the gulf opposite Stresa are uniquely picturesque and eternally fascinating.
